About the Author
Kevin Wright studied writing at the University of Massachusetts in Lowell and fully utilized his bachelor’s degree by seeking and attaining employment first as a produce clerk and later as an emergency medical technician and firefighter. His parents are thrilled.
For decades now he has studied a variety of martial arts but steadfastly remains not-tough in any way shape or form. He just likes to pay money to get beat up, apparently.
Kevin Wright peaked intellectually in the seventh grade.
Kevin Wright wrote this bio, and this is how he actually refers to himself while speaking to people, in the third person like some steroid-addled NFL wide receiver.
He enjoys reading a little bit of everything and writing sci fi, fantasy, and horror. He does none of it well. The Beast, is one of his many short stories while Revelations, a full length horror novel, was his debut piece. Kevin continues to write and is currently working on another full length novel.

Hard to beat the setting for a horror, and russian gangsters? badass! That culture mixes well with the horror genre, though has as of yet been somewhat overlooked. Enjoy! He writes well!
Good short story. Interesting setting for the tale, and Very good imagery. If you only read one Russian gangster horror short This year, I highly recommend " The Beast".
I occasionally read novels but short stories are my thing. This was well written and the author made a great effort in emphasizing the setting and language. I'm not sure if it's based on a real place, as I'm not a scholar on Russia, but it's doesn't really matter as I fully bought into it.
